Overview

Scope

  • Storefront design
  • Custom Shopify theme
  • Subscription flow
  • Checkout optimisation
  • Analytics setup

Olea & Co. is a third-generation family producer of estate olive oil from Istria. Their oil wins awards. Their online store, a generic template, did not. Most revenue came from weekend markets, and the website got little attention. We rebuilt the storefront as an editorial experience that sells the craft behind the bottle.

The challenge

The template store buried Olea's story under a generic grid, and a three-step checkout leaked sales, especially on mobile, where two-thirds of shoppers arrived. First-time buyers rarely returned, so every order effectively cost a market stall to earn.

How I approached it

    01

    Positioning & story

We reframed Olea around provenance: the estate, the harvest, the family. Product pages became short stories with tasting notes and pairings.

    02

    Conversion-focused UX

We collapsed checkout into a single focused step, added express payments, and made the cart persist across devices.

    03

    Subscriptions

We introduced a 'cellar' subscription so first-time tasters become regulars, with flexible frequency and one-tap skip.

    04

    Measure & tune

We instrumented the funnel and A/B tested the product page and checkout across the first month post-launch.
